This Summer the Maynooth Guitar Orchestra is having its first offical Irish tour. For this event they will collaborate with 12 European based guitaists forming an esemble of 25 guitarists!. It promises to be one of most exciting and original music projects of the summer. The tour climaxes with a performance on the Main Auditorium of the National Concert Hall on the 13th of August They will perform Mozart's 'Symphony K.201', Debussy's 'Tarantelle Styrienne' and two new works, Victor Lazzarini's 'Elliptical Transforamtions', for Guitar Ensmble with contra bass guitars and Brendan Walsh's New work 'Concerto for Violin and Guitar Ensemble'. The violinist to premier this new work is the young award winning Deborah Landolt from Switzerland. Their programme will also feature a special arrangement by young Jazz Guitarist Patrick Groenland of the Rodgers/Hart song 'it never entered mt mind', It will be performed by the irresistable voice of Georgia Cusack. Other musical treats/surprises will also be in store...
